The Ryzen 7 and Kaby Lake processors are currently queuing for the upcoming iMac 2017. Apple has recently announced that the new iMac will be showcased in September this year. However, the Cupertino-based tech giant still has to choose between AMD and Intel's CPU.

Choosing between the two is not an easy task, most especially with AMD's new multi-core CPU. Last year's iMac had a 3.1 Ghz Quad Core i5 Broadwell processor and an Iris Pro 6200 GPU from Intel.

Surprisingly, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is challenging Intel's flagship i7 processors. Head to head, the fight is as close as it gets, the cheaper Ryzen does not back down with raw computing power. In the other hand, Intel's Kaby Lake processor is durable and has been the staple of many PC brands.

PC Advisor weighed in the advantages of both CPU's and Intel is currently having a very small lead. Aside from being new, Ryzen CPU's need to pass the test of time to prove that it's reliable. Until then, consumers would have to wait for Apple's official decision.

The iMac 2017 will allegedly have a 5K retina display along with USB Type-C and Thunderbolt. Rumors are also suggesting that the next iMac will have an OLED Touch Bar and a Touch ID. Apple's desktop computer will reportedly also have VR support.

As for the iMac's release, there is still no exact date when Apple will roll out the device. Several rumors are suggesting that the PC might be available for the third quarter of 2017. However, Apple might even release it next year.

All the pieces seem to be in place for the Cupertino tech giant's next line of iMac computers. The only thing left to decide is the desktop's next CPU. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
