Xiaomi Mi 6 will not have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 because of the chips' shortage. However, there are several claims that the Chinese manufacturer has already resolved this latest issue that it is facing.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 will not be released in various regions. However, the latest Chinese flagship device has been already successful in stealing the limelight from the big players in the market. With the nearing release date of the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi 6, series of new speculations as well as leaks have emerged about the smartphone.
One of the most talked about topics everytime people mention the Xiaomi Mi 6 is its predecessor. The initial speculations pointed that the smartphone will be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC. Recent speculations, however, surfaced claiming that because of Samsung monopoly, there is a shortage in the processor's initial production. This triggered more to speculate that Xiaomi Mi6 will not run on the said processor.
Android Central reported that the makers of Xiaomi Mi 6 have already devised a new strategy to resolve the Snapdragon 835 issue. Initially, the company will allegedly release Mi 6 units bearing Snapdragon 821 similar to that of LG G6. Although the SD 821 is an inferior chip compared to the SD 835, the power of the said chips remains tough.
In addition, at a later date, the company will then release another variant of Xiaomi Mi 6, which will run with Snapdragon 835 SoC. In other words, the company will release an entry-level Mi 6 and a premium variant that contains the SD 835 processor.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone is expected to be released in April 2017. The Chinese manufacturer has not yet released information about the upcoming device's price. However, if speculations are to be believed the prevailing price right now is at $290 for the entry-level variant running on SD 821.
