Evolving a Pokemon mid-battle during a "Pokemon Duel" match grants an extra damage to a Pokemon, which almost guarantee a win. Just like the earlier and more popular "Pokemon Go" mobile game, "Duel" does not also come with an official detailed tutorial on how to evolve Pokemon in the game.
HOW TO EVOLVE POKEMON MID BATTLE
Just like in "Pokemon Go", evolving a pocket monster is an essential element in "Pokemon Duel." However, unlike in "Pokemon Go", players in "Pokemon Duel" can actually take advantage of evolving a pocket monster mid battle to acquire a bonus damage boost.
To evolve a Pokemon mid battle players must first check if the pocket monster is capable of evolving before going into battle. To do this, a player should go to the deck and select the pocket monsters with a blue dot below the image. These blue dots signify that a Pokemon can evolve mid battle.
After selecting the Pokemon, go to Edit Figures to select an evolution. An evolution may only be set if a player has already acquired the appropriate evolution figure. To confirm that the evolution is set, go back to the lineup screen and check if the blue dot below the Pokemon's image is glowing. An evolution is correctly keyed in if the blue dot is lit up.
During the "Pokemon Duel" battle, the Pokemon selected for evolution must first win a battle to trigger the evolution. Once the other pocket monster is knocked out, the player with the pre-selected Pokemon to evolve will be a given an option to evolve. Though opting to evolve the Pokemon is recommended there are a number of players that chooses not to evolve their Pokemon as a form of strategy.
Though it may not have the same launch success that the "Pokemon Go" enjoyed, "Pokemon Duel" actually offers a more exciting battle mode. The mobile game is available for both iOS and Android.
