Last December 2015, Adult Swim announced the return of Gendy Tartakovsky's action cartoon series, "Samurai Jack." This year, the samurai cartoon is coming back with new stories and twists.
The action cartoon TV series was initially expected to air on Cartoon Network last year. However, the network just recently announced the confirmation of the official schedule. "Samurai Jack" will return to the small screens on Mar. 11, 2017.
"Samurai Jack" last aired on TV more than a decade ago. It was cancelled on 2004 after its fourth season. The cartoon left its fans hanging as they waited for years before the fifth season was finally announced.
Based on the teaser video of the new season, Jack looks different and seems to be struggling and lost. With his perseverance to find his way back, he fights new villains and characters. Aside from these plot teasers, no other details regarding the new series' plot were shared by the Cartoon Network.
Many old fans have a different reaction to the return of their childhood favorite. One of them is Damion Damaske of Joblo, where he said in a report, "Things look all kinds of f*cked up. It's much grittier and bloodier than I remember it being. I guess I'll definitely check out the other seasons now, because this looks pretty badass!"
The new season of "Samurai Jack," will have 10 new episodes. According to the show's creator, as reported by AV Club, the newest season is well removed from the first 52 episodes of the show and it will catch up with a Jack who's lost his way.
