New "Final Fantasy" games are being developed, this has been confirmed by "FF" series brand manager Shinji Hashimoto. It can be recalled that no new titles were announced at the recently concluded 30th Anniversary event for the RPG.
"Final Fantasy" video game developer Square Enix hosted an event to celebrate the 30th year of its most popular game series. Though there are a lot of "FF" related news, the news were all about updates of existing titles and the release of the remastered version of "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age".
Fans of the video game franchise have been waiting for an announcement about new projects or titles for the game series. However, no new titles were announced at the Tokyo event. Adding to the disappointment of the fans is that no details have also been announced about the being developed remake of the "Final Fantasy VII"
In an interview with Weekly Famitsu, which was translated by Gematsu, Shinji Hashimoto, series brand manager of "Final Fantasy", revealed that new "FF" titles are currently in production. Hashimoto also made clear that the Tokyo event was only an opening ceremony for the 30th year anniversary of the popular RPG.
"This event (referring to the Tokyo event) was a ceremony to raise the curtain on the 30th anniversary", said Hashimoto, "in other words an opening ceremony".
Hashimoto also said that the company is preparing various projects. He also said that the announcements and projects are not just limited to home games.
Aside from confirming that a new "Final Fantasy" game is being developed, Hashimoto also hinted that news about the "FF VII" remake may be underway. However, Hashimoto also said that he still can't say anything about the game and that the news may come from Kitase. Yoshinori Kitase is the producer of the "FFVII" remake.
