"Final Fantasy VII" is turning 20, the same year the franchise is celebrating its 30th year. With that, a collaboration between "FF VII Remake" and a mobile RPG game is happening.
The city of Midgar, famous from "Final Fantasy VII", is now on "Mobius Final Fantasy," a mobile RPG game from Square Enix. Players could travel to Midgar and progress through the city to acquire new items. According to Thumbsticks, some of these items include a strengthened Masamume weapon and an Aerith Echo.
A new job will also be released for "Mobius Final Fantasy." During the said event, the Soldier 1st class warrior-type legend job will be introduced to players.
The limited collaboration event between "Final Fantasy VII Remake" and "Mobius Final Fantasy" will be released in three installments throughout the month of February. It started on February 7 and will be live until April 1, 2017.
Apart from the "Final Fantasy VII Remake" event, a new campaign will also go live this month. According to Develop, Square Enix announced that there will be special reward campaigns for "Mobius Final Fantasy." This is to celebrate the game's achievement of getting 10 million registered players worldwide.
The said campaign has also started coinciding with the "Final Fantasy VII Remake" event. The campaign allows players to acquire special gifts and log-in bonuses. The bonus items will be found in present boxes that are opened each day. This could include 14 Summon Tickets or two Growstars.
"Mobius Final Fantasy" is an episodic RPG game that features elements from previous "Final Fantasy" titles. It is also headed by famous producer Yoshinori Kitase who has led various "Final Fantasy" games. He is also heading the development of "Final Fantasy VII Remake."
This "Mobius Final Fantasy" special rewards campaign will end on February 28. The game is available on Google Play Store for Android, App Store for iOS and Steam.
