Black Canary will be in "Injustice 2". Game Developer NetherRealm Studios has just confirmed that the hand-to-hand combat master will be a playable character in the video game.
Black Canary first appeared in the DC Comic Universe in the Flash Comics #86 that was published in August 1947. She was initially the alter ego of Dinah Drake until Drake's daughter, Dinah Laurel Lance, took over the super-heroine persona.
The character was first depicted as not having any superpowers. Black Canary was originally just a hand-to-hand fighter. However, later depiction of the super-heroine already gave her superhuman abilities.
Black Canary's superpower is a high-powered sonic scream named as the Canary Cry. The gameplay trailer of Black Canary for "Injustice 2" featured this superpower. The gameplay trailer also featured the martial arts skills of the super-heroine.
The Black Canary that will be included in the "Injustice 2" video game is Dinah Lance's version of the super-heroine. In the comic books, Dinah Lance's super human abilities was attributed to a genetic mutation.
Game Developer NeatherRealm announced the inclusion of Black Canary in "Injustice 2" through IGN's First video series. Featured in the IGN First is the gameplay trailer for the character.
The super heroine was given a back story on the official website of "Injustice 2". According to the website, Black Canary has returned home to set things right. The description also said that she vowed to never again silence her canary's cry.
