Superman is about to become Earth's greatest threat in "Injustice 2" due to Shattered Alliances. NetherRealm Studios and Ed Boon have both taken to Twitter to tease some kind of a narrative venture for "Injustice" fans. "Shattered Alliances Part 1: The Regime will rise - learn how #Superman became one of Earth's greatest threats," reads the tweet shared by 'injustice 2" Twitter account. This could be some kind of a web series or comic, telling the story of Lois Lane's murder that drives Superman into violent insanity.
According to WWG, if Superman somehow ends up getting freed from the red-sun prison cell before "Injustice 2" begins, whatever the Tweet is indicating may come along with Tom Taylor's impending comic series. This could fill in the gaps between the original game and its sequel. The image shared looks cropped from a larger image. Ed Boon may reveal the truth behind the story anytime now. Meanwhile, "Injustice 2" comic will explore events in between the games. The comics will reportedly focus on Supergirl's back story and antics of Harley Quinn.
In yet another report by WWG, it is stated that the "Injustice 2" comic will be written by Tom Taylor and will serve as a prequel to the upcoming game. Superman will be apparently subdued and under lock and key.
"Well, [Supergirl] is incredibly important to the game, and our role in the comic is to give her that backstory. Where she's come from, what she's gone through. Who she's been with, the trials and tribulations. So, she will be a very big part of our comic," Taylor recently told GameSpot.
Taylor also asked fans to focus on Harley Quinn as she is going to play an integral role. It seems women are going to play a more important part in the "Injustice 2" comic. The Digital versions comes out on April 11 and the print version in May. The game will hit Xbox One and PS4 on May 16.
