Simbin Studios' classic racing game series "GTR" is coming back next year. Allan Speed, the studio's head, confirmed that the new "GTR 3" is slated for a 2018 release.

Since 2010, Simbin Studios has not released any new game to the public. Just recently, they shocked the gaming industry when they confirmed that "GTR 3" is currently under development and targeting a release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. "GTR 3," which is the third installment from the "GTR" racing franchise, will be released 12 years after its predecessor was launched.

Thru Race Department forums, Simbin Studios claimed that the upcoming game is being designed by using the Unreal 4 game engine. "The plan will be to branch off," Speed said. "It will be proper simulation, but for the GTR 3's PlayStation 4 and Xbox versions the casual player is just as important. At some point RaceRoom will switch over to the technology we are creating and we'll just take that a different route, as in simulation with support for both console and PC."

According to Chris Speed, one of the personalities behind the upcoming game and Allan's brother, "GTR 3" needs to appeal to both hardcore racers as well as casual gamers. The new racing game is still in early development, but the studio is aiming to have a playable build after six months. No other visual teaser of the game were shared by RaceRoom and Simbin Studios except for the game's screenshot photo, which shows some amazing cars and graphics.
