"Project CARS 2" has kept players waiting on more information, which Slightly Mad Studios may have noticed. A new trailer recently surfaced for the racing simulator and many had said that it looks quite marvelous, particularly for a project with limited funding.
According to Digital Trends, the trailer did not divulge much information just yet, but was rather generous with showing off cars and stunning environments. It starts with glimpses of carbon fiber and even the drool-worthy Ford GT. It also shows the McLaren P1 GTR, a highly exclusive model with only 45 confirmed units made.
The McLaren is priced at a hefty $2 million in real life and "Project CARS 2" allows players to experience it, at least virtually. Rally racers are also seen in the trailer, along with the Lamborghini GT3 Huracan. However, amidst all the astounding vehicular display, it is the weather composition that makes things immensely interesting for players to take note of.
One is how rain consistently interacts with the vehicles, the ground and so on, making it close to realistic. In comparison to the other games of its kind, "Project CARS 2" may hold an advantage in that sense and could very well be recognized for its detailing attributes, if not the gameplay.
"Project CARS 2" is not a high-budget title that Slightly Mad Studios started with. It was actually funded by the fans who believed in the game's potential. Investors are hooked on the World of Mass Development platform, ensuring that there will be a return in the first number of years. The ample knowledge surrounding the title is no pushover either, as BBC television series "Top Gear" star The Stig has lent his expertise and consulted on the "Project CARS 2" development.
"Project CARS 2" is slated for release later in 2017, with no exact date as of this writing. The "CARS" in the title stands for Community Assisted Racing Simulator; an action that has shown great output for the original and is carried over to the sequel.
