Agents Coulson and May's budding romance have been noted by fans all season long. However, things aren't quite as Coulson would have imagine it, as it's really been robot May the whole time. Yet, the tension between the two in "Agents of SHIELD" season 4 have been fun to watch so far.

The new promo footage for "Agents of SHIELD" season 4 episode 12, titled "Hot Potato Soup," sees Phil and Melinda May go in for a smooch. Apparently, Coulson might actually fall for the impeccable LMD. While it's fun to watch Coulson loved up and all, this could really complicate things, given that the real May is still being held captive in Radcliffe's home.

Whatever's to come in "Agents of SHIELD" season 4 episode 12 could either excite fans of Coulson and May or set them off. The two have always had a good chemistry but something always gets in the way of a possible hook up.

Coulson and May both had their share of personal struggles, but their friendship remained strong despite everything. In October last year, actor Clark Gregg told Entertainment Weekly what fans should expect in "Agents of SHIELD" season 4 now that his character and Ming-Na Wen's have gotten closer.

"There seems like there might be some long gestating sparks happening a little closer to home. I'm just going on what I've been reading [in the scripts]," the actor said. "They're either becoming even better friends after all they've been through or, I don't know, I keep feeling like some of these lines are a little flirtatious."

Meanwhile, FanSided reports that fans are yet to see the worst from Radcliffe, especially now that SHIELD knows Radcliffe's the bad guy. Radcliffe has broken May mentally, and capturing just one agent might tilt the scales too far heavily against SHIELD.

"Agents of SHIELD" season 4 episode 12 isn't going to be all about Philinda, but it's enough to get everyone psyched! When's Coulson going to realize it's actually robot May he's falling for? Comment with your thoughts below!
