The debate of which device is better, Android or iOS, has been tackled hundreds of times already in which both sides have valid arguments. This time however, Android Authority focuses on the ways Google Play is better than the Apple App Store.

Google Play Store Is More Developer Friendly

For developers, they are unlikely to spend hundreds of hours creating apps only to be rejected by Google Play. This has led to a much more lively Android development community. While in Apple App Store, it has been very selective of what apps are allowed for quality assurance purposes.

Google Play Apps Can Be Found More Easily

When users are trying to search apps in Google Play, it runs the queries through all the textual information available on the app's page the users are looking for. In Apple App Store, it only compares the query with the keywords that the developers manually entered into the keyword section. This means that unless users typed the keyword of the app they are looking for; they will have a hard time searching for the app.

Android Apps Are Less Expensive

Given the fact that there are more developers in Google Play, they are likely to have more competition with the apps they are developing. The result, developers tend to price their apps much lower than the competition. Unlike in Apple App Store, apps are relatively more expensive because of less competition.

Google Play Gives More Information About The Apps

While both Apple and Google provide screenshots for their apps, the latter also provides videos to the majority of their apps. Videos tend to give a better idea of what users can expect from the app. In addition, Google's information about their apps is more organized and easier to read.
