Samsung has reportedly integrated its very own virtual assistant called Bixby for its upcoming flagship smartphone the Galaxy S8 according to a report by GSM Arena. Bixby will be able to obey commands from its users and more.

Samsung has added features that allow Bixby to use the S8's camera for visual search and it can also recognize text. The feature is similar to Google's Goggles app which can scan barcodes of to give more information about the product to the user.

However, Bixby can do more than give users' additional information; the camera app of the Galaxy S8 will include its own Bixby button to scan barcodes, it can also connect its users to Samsung Pay in order to complete the purchase from an online store. This is an advantage over Apple's Siri as it only uses Apple Pay to send money but not pay for products online.

Meanwhile, according to SAM Mobile, Samsung's virtual assistant will debut on the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus but not exclusively. Bixby most likely will be brought to the Note series and eventually to the mid-range Samsung devices.

The Galaxy S8 is speculated to be launched this coming March 29 and is rumored to sport a dual edge screen that will cover most of the device's front. Samsung allegedly removed the physical home button to make room for such a large display. Recent leaks also suggest that Bixby will have its own button on the side of the device that directly accesses the virtual assistant.
