The "Pokemon Stars" On Nintendo Switch
Codenamed as "Pokemon Stars", the new mainline of the Pokemon game is reportedly on the works for Nintendo Switch and will be released for the game console anytime soon. It is said to be a 3rd version of the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" that will feature the same locales, map and art designs of those 3DS games mentioned above but with just better visual improvements, IGN reported.
Moreover, the "Pokemon Stars" is allegedly built with separate and higher-resolution assets. One of which was displayed in the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" announcement teaser which was released back in February 2016. During the video's brief look at the studio, several shots of concept art are displayed as well as a high-definition model of Pikipek, which will be possibly used in the "Pokemon Stars".
The Pokemon Stars Release Date On Nintendo Switch
As per Tech Mic, Pokemon fans shouldn't have high hopes for a sooner release of "Pokemon Stars". This is apparently due to Nintendo Switch's capabilities of potentially requiring a total re-write of the game's graphics. Unless the game's designers decision to simply smooth out a few of the game's rough edges which resembles one of its fan's HD remake of the current game.
Note that the "Pokemon Sun And Moon" was released sometime in November 2016 for Nintendo 3DS. The said "Pokemon Stars" was reportedly planned for a summer release this year. However, it was reportedly pushed back to sometime late in the year though there is no exact date yet.
