Sylvester Stallone, himself, confirmed the news. He took to Facebook to announce through a personal video message that “The Expendables 4” will begin its production stage sometime next year. Moreover, Stallone shared that he has already started with his workout regimen so that he will be in shape in time for “The Expendables 4” filming.
Considering that the actor revealed a 2018 “The Expendables 4” release date, fans are expecting it to be out by spring time that year. Apart from a possible cinematic launch date, the only other details that fans know about the upcoming “The Expendables 4” are some of the actors tied to it.
To date, the only action stars that have been confirmed to reprise their role in the movie are Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jason Statham. “The Expendables 4” fans are expecting other household names to return, namely, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Jet Li, and Randy Couture - but nothing has been set in stone as of yet.

Every one of the films under “The Expendables” franchise had been directed by different film makers. Unfortunately, it remains unclear precisely who will be called in to direct “The Expendables 4.” However, multiple news sources have pointed out that legendary action directors must be contacted for the coveted role. According to a report, either Edgar Wright or Quentin Tarantino should helm “The Expendables 4.”
