The exchange of tirades between Trump and Schwarzenegger has the feel of a WrestleMania feud meant to drive up audience interest and ratings. Trump, who helped conceive and build the "Apprentice" franchise with Mark Burnett, is listed as an executive producer and retains a financial share in the show.
The clash started when Trump, who once hosted the NBC reality show, took pot shots twice in the past month at the current host, actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, over a ratings nosedive. Schwarzenegger replied by suggesting Trump get back to work on other things.
Trump vs Schwarzenegger Twitter Feud
"Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got 'swamped' by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT," tweeted Trump. Arnold Schwarzenegger is not backing down after Donald Trump again slighted the new "Celebrity Apprentice" host and ex- California governor in another early morning tweet in February 3.
According to Politico, the "Terminator" quickly fired back on Twitter with a video coaxing Trump to work as hard for the American people as he did for his ratings. "You take over TV because you're such an expert in ratings," the actor challenges Trump, titled "The National Prayer Breakfast?" ''And I take over your job and then people can finally sleep comfortably again."
After the President tweeted that Schwarzenegger "did a really bad job as Governor and even worse on the 'Celebrity Apprentice,'" the "Terminator" tweeted back at Trump with a link to a news story from 2006 specifying the release of Schwarzenegger's tax returns as part of his gubernatorial re-election bid, writes Aol.
Just Gets Nastier And Personal
It can be recalled that Trump, has been dogged by criticism when he refused to disclose of his financial obligations and withhold his tax returns. Finally, Schwarzenegger blows back that instead of focusing on the ratings of the show, Trump should focus on his lowest approval rating of all time as president.
