"Logan" is one of the most awaited films this year, immediately following the quite controversial "X-Men: Apocalypse" in 2016. Despite being part of the same comic book universe, the actor behind it clarified how things may not be how they seem.

According to Digital Spy, Hugh Jackman cleared out the common thought that "Logan" is set in the same universe as that of the X-Men canon. Jackman said that the film takes place in a more diverse setting, away from the supposed "paradigm" that fans were used to. He further said that things will be clear soon and fans will understand once they see the movie.

Jackman further implied that timelines have a tendency to confuse the fans if they try to piece it together, given that the "X-Men" films did so in the past. "[Following the timelines] becomes a chess game that you try to serve, which actually doesn't help to tell a story and it's sort of been a bit all over the place. I'm not critical of it - X-Men was the first movie really in comic book, no one thought there'd be another and there were different directors different off shoots," he added.

Recent posts from Twitter stated that the movie was, indeed, given an R-rating, similar to the previous standalone Marvel film "Deadpool." On a positive note, "Logan" is expected to bring about the story on how X-23, Logan's daughter, shows herself as one of the most vital and powerful mutants to enter the said universe. They will be joined by Charles Xavier, as well, who apparently has aged in the film -- as much as the adamantium-stuffed protagonist.

"Logan" is slated to hit theaters in early March of this year. It is said to be Hugh Jackman's final portrayal of the titular character Wolverine, without news yet on any particular successor.
