Ryan Reynolds, along with director James Mangold, has finally cleared up speculations about the upcoming standalone Wolverine film "Logan." This is in response to resounding rumors that the "Deadpool" actor is joining the cast.
Recent talks of Ryan Reynolds making an appearance in the Marvel film "Logan" was immediately debunked by the actor and the movie's director. Given in the past that cameos come naturally in Marvel films, the speculation became quite a welcome idea -- but, unfortunately, not for this particular solo movie.
According to The Wrap, Mangold tweeted that fans who have been excited over the news of Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool appearing in "Logan" should "chill," as there is no truth to the claim. Mangold followed up with a firmer tweet that said, "DEADPOOL IS NOT IN MY FILM. Does all caps help confirm it?" Prior to the tweet, fans seem to see the possibility that the "Merc with a Mouth" will do something in the movie, even as a post-credit feat.
"Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission," Reynolds backed the statement. Jackman seemingly agreed, tweeting, "What they said...." Despite being spotted doing scenes for "Logan," the entire party rules out the possibility of any and all Deadpool participation in such.
"Logan" follows the story of Wolverine in the future, alongside his daughter. In the film, they will be joined by Professor Charles Xavier in a world where all the mutants are seemingly wiped out.
The movie is scheduled to launch on March 3, 2017. It is considered to be the third standalone film under the "Wolverine" saga, following the "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and "The Wolverine."
