The last time fans of the "Kingdom Hearts" got their hands on a full numbered sequel was nearly over a decade ago. Now, Sora and friends are coming back with the next chapter, "Kingdom of Hearts 3" is estimated to arrive in 2017 and a prequel game will be released separately beforehand.
Neither Square Enix nor Disney have made an official announcement in terms of "Kingdom of Hearts 3" release date as of yet. However, it would be apparently logical to release the title within 2017, considering that the game developer had just successfully released "Final Fantasy XV" while the "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue," a prologue to KH3, is anticipated to arrive before January ends, according to VG247.
It has been 10 years since the release of "Kingdom Hearts 2". One spinoff after another were released which were all good but none with the display or scope of a full "Kingdom Hearts" release. Now, with the upcoming universe of "Kingdom Hearts 3", it will certainly be an exciting one as it will be reportedly filled with some of Disney's most current and successful franchises.
Furthermore, aside from the Disney released new animated features, it will apparently integrate some notable franchises that will make the upcoming title splendid compared to its debut. As per the publication, the said acquisitions include Star Wars and Marvel.
Though Square Enix hasn't reportedly confirmed it yet, it has been a talk of the town that a world for Thor, Indiana Jones, Iron Man and Luke Skywalker will be apparently added as well as a possibility of introducing the franchise with a Pixar world. However, while the game developer has spent some time to reveal vital details, fans can be rest assured that the game developer will be offering an exciting RPG mashup with Disney.
As endless possibilities emerged but not yet confirmed so far, there have been two worlds officially announced for "Kingdom Hearts 3" which are "Tangled" and "Big Hero 6". Meanwhile, "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue," is set to be launched on Jan. 24 and can now be pre-ordered at various licensed retailers.
