Ever since the "Kingdom Hearts 3" trailer was revealed during the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2015, Square Enix has yet to release any new teaser content. It's been almost two years, and yet no visual updates have arrived in the form of mini clips, screenshots, or official art. It's high time for a new "Kingdom Hearts 3" trailer, and a recent interview with franchise composer Yoko Shimomura has us optimistically hoping that we will in fact be getting one by March 10 this year.

'Kingdom Hearts' World Tour Series of Orchestra Concerts

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise, Square Enix has put together the first ever "Kingdom Hearts" World Tour-a series of orchestra concerts that will play in seven different cities across the globe. The celebration officially starts March 10, and the first city on the list is none other than Tokyo, Japan.

In an interview with Dengeki PlayStation, (translation provided by Twitter user @goldpanner) Yoko Shimomura mentions that she and game director Tetsuya Nomura have evidently collaborated on the performance. She then follows this up with some interesting information, about how Nomura supervised "the movie that is going to play in the hall."

While Shimomura doesn't give more detail than that, Video Games Republic reports that many are banking on a "Kingdom Hearts 3" trailer. It would make sense, given that the KH World Tour is meant to celebrate the franchise, and fresh new content for KH3 would placate the fans who are beginning to lose hope in a 2017-2018 "Kingdom Hearts 3" release.

'Kingdom Hearts 2.8' Trailer Ties In With March Timeline

The "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" trailer released June 2016 mentions "upcoming announcements" for KH3 "this winter." Given that March 10 is just a few days away from the end of winter, a "Kingdom Hearts 3" trailer released on this day would still fit in with the promised timeline.

A trailer may not be guaranteed at this point, but it does fill certain parameters. It certainly wouldn't be a tall order to fill, given that "Kingdom Hearts 3" production has been on-going, and some fresh content would be a great way to celebrate the franchise. We'll just have to wait until March 10 2017, when the "Kingdom Hearts" World Tour series of Orchestra Concerts kicks off.
