Details about what looks like a new "Call Of Duty" game seem to have surfaced online. The purported 2017 "COD" title is likely to feature a dramatic historical setting if the recently surfaced leak is anything to go by.
Infinity Ward's "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" introduced a new setting taking players into outer space; however, it looks like this year "Call Of Duty" title will take avid gamers back to the Vietnam War. Dubbed as the "People's Army," the alleged game made its way on the internet in the form of leaked images and videos.
As expected, this stirred conversations among loyal "Call of Duty" fans with quite a few people doubting its genuineness of the report citing the substandard visuals on the menu system as the anonymous player browses through the settings, Dexerto reported.
It can be recalled that Activision invited Sledgehammer Games to take the helm of a new "Call of Duty" title and the developers kicked off a project dubbed as "Call of Duty: Fog of War," which was set in Laos. The title was rumored to be a third-person shooter.
Regrettably, some problems cropped up at the time of "Modern Warfare 3" development compelling many of its developers to leave the ongoing project hanging in order to form a studio called Respawn Entertainment. As a result, Sledgehammer Games had to be brought in to assist "Infinite Warfare" in order to complete the "Modern Warfare 3" development tasks.
This resulted in the stoppage and later cancellation of the development of the title. Sledgehammer is assigned the task of developing a more traditional "COD" game for the fan-favorite series. Moreover, the "Call Of Duty" is likely to go back to a WW2 (World War 2) setting, FragHero reported.
Details about the upcoming title are scarce, and the internet is currently brimming with mere speculations about the 2017 "Call of Duty" title. While it remains to be seen if this year's "COD" will indeed be set in Vietnam, loyal fans of the games are hoping that Sledgehammer will be the much-needed redemption opportunity for the series.
There's word floating around that 2017 "Call Of Duty: could make an appearance in November this year. However, until an official announcement is released, readers are advised to take them with a huge grain of salt.
