"The Last of Us 2" spoilers tease on the possible introduction of an LGBT character to play as Ellie's love interest. A lot of theories emerged online after Naughty Dog unveiled the trailer to the game's sequel during the PlayStation Experience.

One of the newest theories surrounding "TLOU 2" is the plot's possible similarity to the Greek Mythology of Theseus. According to iDigitalTimes, a user named Briana White noted that one of the posters on Ellie's wall in the trailer reads, "Theseus."

The user noted the possibility that Theseus' story may have a connection to "The Last of Us 2" plot. The Greek Mythology tells the story of Theseus - how he was able to conquer the Minotaur and save Athens.

The theory claims that Ellie may be focused on getting revenge on the Fireflies who are out to get other people to serve as the "cure" to the infection. After all, "The Last of Us 2" director Neil Druckmann teased that the sequel's theme was hate, as told through the eyes of Ellie.

The theory also suggests on an LGBT character from within the Fireflies who will play as Ellie's love interest and will help her defeat the group in "The Last of Us 2." Game Rant also notes on another popular theory surrounding the game, which suggests that Joel may be dead in the sequel.

Many fans believed that Joel's death will be the reason behind Ellie's decision to get revenge in "The Last of Us 2." Signs such as Joel's phrasing and his symbolic entrance into Ellie's room in the trailer lead fans to believe that the character has already died.
