Rockstar Games officially confirmed the release of "Red Dead Redemption 2" in autumn 2017. While details of the upcoming sequel are yet to be announced, several reports suggest that "RDR2" will feature an online multiplayer option and a possible cross promotion with "Grand Theft Auto 6."
"Red Dead Redemption 2" will be officially launched in the market in the fall of 2017 and many gamers could not help but wonder what is in store for them. Rockstar Games has yet to officially release details of the upcoming sequel, but PC Advisor notes that there are numerous rumors surrounding its gameplay, platforms, and other features.
One of the most highly anticipated features of "RDR2" is the online multiplayer option, which has been introduced in "Grand Theft Auto 5." According to the publication, a Reddit user, who has successfully predicted online updates on "GTA" in the past, recently revealed that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will have three playable characters and the online mode may be released later on.
The publication notes that "GTA Online" helped keep players interested in the franchise for years while waiting for the release of "GTA 6." RDR2.com also reports on the possible cross promotion between the "GTA 5" sequel and "Red Dead Redemption 2."
According to the outlet, "RDR2" may benefit from the anticipation of gamers for the release of "Grand Theft Auto 6." EA has previously done cross promotion between "Dragon Age: Origins" and "Mass Effect 2," which reportedly led to an increase in sales of both games.
Other fans, however, commented that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is already popular on its own and would not need to be promoted next to "GTA 6." Another thing is that Rockstar Games has not even confirmed that the "Grand Theft Auto 5" sequel was in the works, as they were busy working on "RDR2."
Do you think "Red Dead Redemption 2" should have a cross promotion with "GTA 6" or is it already good on its own? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
