The Audi Q8 has been the talk of many vehicle aficionados, especially as it is expected to be the company's flagship SUV. With the existing ideas around the SUV, future customers may need to take note of what it can offer as soon as it becomes available to the public.

As per Bangkok Post, the Q8 is based mostly on the Q7 and can be comparable to the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and the BMW X6. One of the feats that are said to make the vehicle stand out is the robust, powerful look and design.

It has an octagonal front grille that differs from those of the existing Audis today, offering a hexagonal version with large air vents affront, with horizontal rear lights and flared fenders. It extends to 5 meters in overall length, with a 3-meter wheelbase for cargo space and passenger capacity. However, it does not show the same seven-seat capacity of Q7, and the rear bench for three more people has not been affirmed as of late.

The concept cockpit shows how the Q8 has touch screen controls for both the front and rear passengers. Audi also announced a plug-in hybrid which was not found in the X6 and GLE Couple -- but the past X5 and GLE models made use of it. More than that, the hybrid gets a 3.0-litre V6 petrol turbo engine, eight-speed automatic and electric motor that is power by lithium-ion batteries from the back.

According to Business Insider, the vehicle is expected to go from 0-100 kilometers per hour in just 5.4 seconds, with the EV range pointed at 60 kilometers per hour. The batteries charge in two-and-a-half hours in total. As for the engines, other variations are expected to also surface especially for the cheaper models-some anticipate six-pot diesel motors identical to that of the X6 and GLE Coupe. The Audi Q8 is expected to come out in 2018, with no exact release date as of this writing.
