"The Big Bang Theory" may be coming to a questionable future after the tenth season. This is reportedly because the stars' contracts last only until then and no new offer has been signed.
The big bosses of the long-running show said that they had plans of making the contracts of more definite, especially for season 10 and beyond. To clarify matters, it was the president himself who said where the situation currently stands.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, CBS president Glenn Geller explained how there is a slight difficulty in terms of finishing up their transactions. "[Contract talks] are continuing; it is tough but kind of normal negotiations. We are guardedly optimistic about it. It's normal negotiations," Geller said.
There has not been any specification as to what makes the series longer, although certain claims from the same report suggest that the cast is requesting for further fee increases. It was back in 2014 when the cast received massive raises, particularly the trio of Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons. They negotiated on getting $1 million per episode, as per the contract.
Season 10 of "The Big Bang Theory" recently aired new episodes following a hiatus of a few weeks. Despite the dread that the show could end there, Geller insisted to the press at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, as per Fox News, that they are confident of the demand. He insisted that those involved want more "Big Bang" after the tenth year and knows that Warner Bros. will push through.
CBS' hit comedy has been around since 2007, winning 1 Golden Globe and over 60 awards and 210 nominations in the past. It also holds dear a number of celebrities such as Kunal Nayyar (Raj), Simon Helberg (Howard), Melissa Rauch (Bernadette) and Mayim Bialik (Amy).
