The long wait is finally over as an OTA update is now being released for the Asus Zenfone Max for units in India, according to a report by GSM Arena. The update will bring a few changes and improvements for the device.
The update, arriving as version 13.8.26.80, will finally fix an issue with its LTE mobile data which randomly disconnects for some users. It will also bring updates to several apps.
According to a report by The Mobile indian, the said update will finally bring VoLTE support for devices in India after recent complaints of having no support for the same. The smartphone is now compatible with Jio's VoLTE calling service. Users may now take advantage of the free voice and data service being offered by Jio that will last until March 31, 2017.
Since it's an OTA update, your device might take a while before it receives a notification. You can, however, check it manually, just go to Settings>About Phone>Software Update, there you can see if you already have the update for your device.
The Asus ZenFone was launched in India in January 2016. It boasts a 5.5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by a Qualcomm 8916 Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. A variant with a snapdragon 615 with 3GB of RAM is also available. The device comes with 16GB or 32GB of internal storage and is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The ZenFone Max also sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash with a front-facing camera of 5-megapixel. In addition, the device offers dual SIM capability.
