ASUS has taken center stage at the Las Vegas CES 2017 with its Zennovation event which saw the release of two new smartphones from the tech company. Jonney Shih, ASUS Chairman, has unveiled two new ASUS smartphones at the Zennovation Las Vegas CES 2017 event, the ASUS ZenFone AR and the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom smartphones.
Both new smartphones from the ASUS ZenFone brand will be powered by Snapdragon processors from Qualcomm. The new ASUS ZenFone AR and ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom is indicative of the strong relationship between tech company ASUS and processor developer Qualcomm Technologies Inc.
The new ASUS ZenFone AR smartphone is said to be the first of its kind as the ZenFone AR features both Daydream-ready and Tango-enabled capabilities. The Daydream platform was developed by Google and allows users high quality virtual reality experience and can also support Daydream VR applications. While Tango is a computer-vision software which utilizes set of sensors that gives smartphones augmented reality (AR) capabilities.
The ZenFone AR ASUS smartphone unveiled at 2017 CES will be powered by the Snapdragon 821 processor from Qualcomm. Christiano Amon, Qualcomm Tech's Executive Vice President, stated in the Zennovation Las Vegas CES 2017 event that the Snapdragon 821 is the perfect processor for the ASUS ZenFone AR. This pronouncement from Amon was because the Snapdragon 821 packs enough power to handle the complex features and intensive processing requirements for a true AR experience.
Another smartphone from ASUS that was unveiled in the Zennovation Las Vegas CES 2017 event is the ZenFone 3 Zoom. The ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom has a Snapdragon 625 under its hood and will be fueled by a 5000mAh battery.
The ZenFone 3 Zoom is said to be especially developed for photography. The long battery life of the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom more than satisfy the needs of selfie addicts and users who are just fond of taking photos.
