While Huawei's Mate 9 is still a good enough phone, the release of the upgraded version, Mate 9 Pro, may have surprised a number of people on how the company made the latter even better just by improving on little things, according to a report by Forbes.
Here we take a look at a review of Huawei Mate 9 Pro Forbe's contributor Ben Sin.
Although the Mate 9 has a bigger screen at 5.9 inches, the Mate 9 Pro's 5.5-inch display makes it feels better to hold and can be used with only one hand yet maintaining the big screen. The Pro also has an AMOLED quad HD screen resolution compared to just LCD 1080p for the Mate 9. Looking at the two devices side-by-side will show that the true blacks on the Mate 9 Pro is visually more pleasing.
The Mate 9 Pro sports a dual-curved display, which Samsung spearheaded in 2015. They are very subtle, so subtle that you can hardly feel that it's a curved-screen phone until you look at it very closely. This also means that it doesn't have the unintentional palm touch issues that are troubling the Samsung S7 Edge.
The Pro version has a 4,000 mAh battery, which the review stated that it did not run out of juice before he finished the day back home with screen on time averaging five to six hours daily in a two week span.
Both devices sport a dual-camera, two rear cameras with a normal 12-megapixel shooter and the other, 20-megapixel monochrome lens. When you take a photo, both lenses are used at once then the software stiches the two photos that make it show more light and more details.
