"Tokyo 42" is reportedly set in a futuristic Tokyo where a player will have to don the role of an assassin in an open world dominated by colors. A multiplayer mode will also be made available. The game is set to be released early 2017 and developer SMAC has been able to create quite a hype surrounding the game. The overtly stylish and isometric action game recently released a trailer illustrating the missions the game actually entails.
According to PC Gamer, "Tokyo 42" is a bit of "GTA1" and a bit of "Syndicate." A player will be able to tackle its diorama-type environments in a variety of ways. If players get tired of crouching, they can sneak into enemy territory and create mayhem by throwing grenades. The enemy won't know about the player's whereabouts even if he is spotted by a guard as he can run away, hide and even swap outfits to make the enemy lose his scent.
Another interesting feature of "Tokyo 42" is the slowed down bullets. Both enemy bullets and bullets shot by the player travel slow in the game. This comes handy as the player is able to dodge bullets. The color-coding has also been done with great perfection. In case a player wants to re-do a particular mission using different methods or if he wants to switch tactics, he doesn't have to restart the entire thing if he dies.
"Tokyo 42" players can activate a mid-mission checkpoint by first losing the army and then activating some sort of terminal. The game is set to be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The objective of the missions is to strategically eliminate targets without attracting too much attention, writes Gameranx. Stay tuned on Mobile & Apps for more updates on "Tokyo 42."
