"Sword Art Online Movie: Ordinal Scale" will start U.S. movie ticket sales on January 6.The movie screening will be one night only.

For the past years, studios like Aniplex and Funimation have worked hard to bring some of the world's biggest anime series to the big screen. In the spring, Aniplex will premiere the latest "Sword Art Online Movie: Ordinal Scale " in theaters. Recently, the company teamed up with distributor Eleven Arts to roll out selling of tickets for the forthcoming screening.

Aniplex announced earlier today, that selling of tickets for "Sword Art Online Movie: Ordinal Scale" begins on January 6. The sale will go live at 12:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time at the movie's official homepage. The movie will screen for one night only on March 9.

"Sword Art Online" is famous to millions of fans all over the world. According to Comic Book, the renowned manga was first published in 2009 and has sold over 19 million copies since. The manga has since bred of other comic versions and a very popular video game. Moreover, the franchise was adapted into two anime series, which turned into a hit among Japanese and international audiences. In 2012, the first anime "Sword Art Online" was released and its sequel series launched in 2014.

This is not the first anime movie that will be launched in U.S. theaters. In less than a week, Funimation will showcase the latest "One Piece" film to theaters for a limited run. "One Piece: Gold" is the latest "One Piece" movie that will be screening in the U.S. on January 10. The movie was earlier released in Japan and the two-hour anime frolic left fans in awe of its action-packed fight sequences and stunning animation.
