Fans of both the "Accel World" and "Sword Art Online" franchise are in for an epic treat. The two series, which have both spawned light novels, anime, manga, and stand-alone video games, will soon be featured in a crossover game called "Accel World vs. Sword Art Online."

Crunchyroll has revealed that Bandai Namco Entertainment America has recently unveiled a new English trailer for the upcoming game "Accel World vs. Sword Art Online." The video is first narrated by Kazuto Kirigaya, a.k.a. Kirito, one of the main characters from Sword Art Online, a series about different "virtual reality MMORPG (Massively multiplayer online role-playing game) worlds".

Kuroyukihime, a protagonist from "Accel World" is also featured in the trailer, along with other characters from both franchises. "Accel World" is about "an Augmented Reality Massively Multiplayer Online (ARMMO) Fighting Game where people fight each other in fierce duels in order to obtain Burst Points which can be spent for acceleration abilities in the real world."

"Accel World vs. Sword Art Online" is headed to the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in summer 2017. The description for the game reads: "The worlds of SWORD ART ONLINE and ACCEL WORLD have begun to merge! In the midst of the chaos, the strongest Burst Linkers from ACCEL WORLD and Alfheim Online Players from SWORD ART ONLINE must come together in a war of the worlds to challenge the Seven Kings of Pure Color and rescue a dear friend from the clutches of Personna Babel. This all-new original story comes from Reki Kawahara, the creator of both SWORD ART ONLINE and ACCEL WORLD, for an interdimensional adventure between two popular anime franchises."

According to Gematsu, the North American version of "Accel World vs. Sword Art Online" will only be available as digital copies for the PS4 and the PS Vita. Meanwhile, the European PS4 version of the game will be available as a physical copy.
