Just last week, Lenovo indicated that its ThinkPad laptops are slated to undergo a radical overhaul in various ways. If recently surfaced reports are anything to go by, the aforesaid improvements have made their ways to Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Carbon, ThinkPad X1 Yoga and ThinkPad X1 Tablet computers, which are part of Lenovo's "ultraportable" business brand.
Aside from that, Lenovo also unveiled an array of awe-inspiring devices at the ongoing CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2017 in Las Vegas. The recently released products include a multimedia controller, smart assistant, and smart storage, Legion laptops, Miix 720 paired with Lenovo Active Pen 2 and Phab 2 Pro apps.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Specs & Features
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon now boasts comparatively smaller and lighter frame than rest of the ThinkPad X1 series. The notebook weighs in at 1.14kgs and sports a 14-inch IPS display along with an augmented Microsoft Precision Touchpad, which has physical buttons, and TrackPoint. In addition to a new silver color option, the device will be up for grabs in black color variant as well, according to TheIndianExpress.
In addition, Lenovo has a couple of aces up its sleeve for the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, which comprises of a robust battery that can last up to 15.5 hours and newfangled connectivity ports, TheVerge reported.
Moreover, it comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A wireless WAN that offers up to three times faster LTE speeds. In terms of connectivity, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon comes with HDMI, type-A USB 3.0 ports, and ThunderboltTM 3 ports. The Chinese tech company also offers expanded docking solutions with USB Type-C docks and Thunderbolt 3.
Furthermore, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon now offers more security through multi-factor authentication improvements. It comes with an IR camera equipped with face recognition support for more secure biometric authentication.
But that's not all; it comes with Match-on-Chip touch fingerprint sensor and supports FIDO-enabled biometric authentication for PayPal. 2017 ThinkPad X1 Carbon will come with a steep price tag of $1,349.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Laptop Specs & Other Details
Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Yoga that comes bearing the "bendy" or multi-mode laptops moniker, is also slated to receive some sort of updates. With a price tag of $1,500, the new model will pack a new processor and a Microsoft Precision Trackpad, which will be up for grabs for both, silver and black color variants.
The laptop will come with a fully retractable keyboard. Unlike the previous model that sported a retractable keyboard tray as well, the new laptop will allow the keys to lie flat individually when the device is folded, replacing the sunken tray.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet Price
Gadget freaks can get their hands on the 2017 variant of the ThinkPad X1 Tablet by shelling out $949. The new tablet is currently being revised with longer battery life. The X1 tablet modules offer port expansion and up to five hours of added battery life.
In other news, Lenovo has announced a couple of new gaming PCs under its Legion lineup -- Lenovo Legion Y720 and Y520 laptops. The alleged laptops are exclusively devised for mainstream players. It has NVIDIA graphics cards coupled with Intel's 7th Gen Core i7 processors. The devices feature Thunderbolt 3 port and pack 16 GB DDR4 memory.
It is worth noting that the ThinkPad brand is the money-spinner for Lenovo, with a majority of devices sold to big businesses. But owing to the portability of the multi-mode X1 Yoga and the X1 Carbon, these models have catapulted to popularity among laptop users as well.
