With the rumor mill now in full force, tech pundits claim that the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 will arrive early next year.
This speculation stemmed from Microsoft's chief executive Satya Nadella's recent mention of a purported "unique and ultimate mobile device" that the company is currently working on. However, Nadella refrained from shedding more light on the rumored Surface Phone.
As expected, this stirred conversations among those waiting with bated breath for Microsoft to announce the Surface Phone 2017's release date, specs, and other details. Meanwhile, potential specs continue to make rounds online --- hinting that the rumored phone will come with a Microsoft Surface Pen. Aside from offering an enhanced user experience, the Stylus will allow for eventual Surface Phone added interface options.
The pen will most probably be placed at the circular port, situated on the right side of the Surface Phone 2017. There's also hearsay that this is the same stylus used on 2015's Surface Pro 3; it enables users to perform several tasks such as drawing, writing, and interacting with the device's display, according to a report from Express.
Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 Specs, Features & Other Details
The upcoming Surface Phone is likely to adopt a 5.7-inch or 5.8-inch display, which could pave the way for fingerprint detection. It will be powered by ARM chips, sport a 20MP primary camera equipped with Carl Zeiss lens, and pack a robust 3,000 mAh battery. Moreover, the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 is expected to boast a kickstand and a built-in QWERTY keyboard.
If rumors proved to be true, Microsoft will roll out three variants for this device --- all varying in terms of RAM and storage that includes 3GB RAM/32GB storage, 6GB RAM/128GB storage, and 8GB RAM/500GB storage. This further echoes the claim of Satya Nadella, as far as coming up with devices that require lots of work is concerned, Forbes reported.
Multiple reports also claim that the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 will run on Windows 10, which the company wants to be their last OS version; Microsoft will just keep updating it across all platforms. Presumably, if Microsoft wants to push its Windows 10 OS on the front, it will need a device capable of carrying it there --- particularly, the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017.
