Only recently did Samsung launch its own series of wireless earphones, called the Gear IconX. Now, the digital community reports that the Korean tech giant is going ahead a step by emulating the concept of AirPods- the latest offering by topmost rival in the smartphone segment, Apple.

Unnamed sources have floated news that Samsung is looking forward to launch its own wireless in-hear headset along with its next flagship release, the Samsung Galaxy S8. At this point of time it is unclear whether these wireless headsets will be sold separately, like AirPods or Samsung's own IconX, or will they be included as a part of the Samsung Galaxy S8 package.

Nothing much is known about the specs and attributes of these upcoming wireless in-ear headsets. Will they have Harman internal parts? We are not sure because even though Samsung acquired Harman, this acquisition happened just a while back. Could Harman have made it to the development stage in order to be included? We do not know.

Will Samsung be introducing a completely new design and model or will they be bringing out the second generation of IconX itself. What could the new design possibly bring with itself? The IconX headphones are fitness trackers in themselves and have in built storage space for playing music.

It has been previously reported that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be launched without the traditional audio jack measuring 3.5mm. Again, this is a way of copying Apple's latest iPhone 7 which has the same feature. If indeed Samsung is planning to drop the jack port, they are either planning to bring headphones with one USB-C end or absolutely wireless ones.

Samsung's rival, Apple drew its fair share of criticism when it first announced the removal of the standard audio jack we are so used to in our smartphones. However, they also generated a positive buzz and excitement in the market and the move was deemed to be a courageous and remarkable one. Samsung Galaxy S8 may be hoping to draw similar attention for its launch and would need new props to remain cool and wanted in the market.
