Smartphone lovers usually look for a mobile with a large screen and high-end camera. Chinese technology company Coolpad knows this and has rolled out its cheapest "CoolPad Cool 1" in the market, featuring a dual 13 MP camera along with Slo-mo 720p recording. The LeEco Coolpad smartphone (model c103) was rolled out four months ago and has recently been launched in India.
The smartphone will be available in two models. The "CoolPad Cool 1" 4 GB variant will come with 32GB onboard storage and will be available for online purchase from January 5. The other 3 GB variant will feature a 32GB onboard storage and will be available for purchase on offline stores. The smartphone features a full HD 5.5" IPS display with support for 1920 X 1080 pixels resolution. The screen also has an amazing 403 PPI pixel density.
The "CoolPad Cool 1" smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor, which is coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. The phone currently runs the EUI 5.6 based Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. The 4 GB variant features 32GB internal storage out of which 23GB is available for the users. The mobile specs a large non-removable 4000 mAh battery, which also features Quick Charge 2.0. The Quick Charge feature enables the smartphone to charge up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes as is claimed by the company.
While the "CoolPad Cool 1" smartphone feels a bit heavy on the arm, holding it does give a feel of holding a premium quality device. The side bezels are extremely thin. The upper bezel accommodates an 8 MP selfie camera along with a light sensor, whereas, the lower bezel has backlit capacitive keys.
One of the first things, easily notable in the smartphone is the dual-camera setup. The "CoolPad Cool 1" smartphone features two 13-megapixel primary cameras with an f/ 2.0 aperture. The cameras provide support for 4K video recording, 720p slo-mo recording, Phase-Detection Auto-focus (PDAF), and dual-tone LED flash. The PDAF sensor and other specs capture RGB colours as well as monochromatic images. The dual-camera setup also enables the user to include DSLR-like bokeh effects in the captured images.
The bottom of the smartphone has dual speaker grilles along with a USB Type-C port. The sim tray is included on the left side of the device, whereas the 3.5mm headphone jack is located on the top part. The handset has a variety of connectivity options, which includes Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5 GHz), dual-SIM, 4G with VoLTE support, and GPS.
The "Coolpad Cool 1" smartphone also comes with a back fingerprint sensor, which the company claims can unlock the smartphone in just 0.15 seconds. The sensor can also be used to click selfies. The smartphone will be available for purchase for a price of just $206 (Rs 13,999).
