Blizzard will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its mega-hit action-RPG "Diablo" on December 31. Blizzard will commemorate the day with in-game events and a lot of goodies in "World of Warcraft", "StarCraft 2", "Overwatch", "Hearthstone", "Heroes of the Storm" and "Diablo 3"
"Diablo" is a hack and slash action game which was released by Blizzard on December 31, 1996. Set in the fictional world of sanctuary, it is a game where a lone warrior journeys around the world while getting stronger to face the Lord of Terror, Diablo, to set the world free.
Blizzard will release the "Darkening of Tristram" tribute event in "Diablo 3" that will remind the players, how they experienced the game when they started playing the original "Diablo". Players will journey through the reimagined version of the original cathedral in "Diablo 3" and should watch for familiar items.
For "Heroes of the Storm", Blizzard will release a new "Diablo" inspired portrait for players. As the players battle for the High Heavens, who will emerge triumphant in the hectic new brawl map?
A dark wanderer will be released for "Hearthstone". A hooded stranger awaits for battle while using a dark deck of cards waiting for its secrets to be unraveled. In-game sprays representing "Diablo 3" characters and a new Lord of Terror inspired player icon will be in store for "Overwatch" players.
"StarCraft 2" will have "Diablo" themed worker portrait. "World of Warcraft" will have a cross-over map which players in the world of Azeroth can explore.The specifics of the anniversary event is yet to be revealed, but Blizzard mentioned that information will be released soon.
