According to Andy Kelly, the coming of Geralt to Toussaint, who is fed up with the world, a detailed and lively wonderland of knights, celebrations, and honor and pride was a very galvanized concept. The character could not be feeling more uninvited in that new region, but that is what giving a very long yet weighty expansion its beauty. It fiercely distinct from any perspective in the primary game, and the feeling of being an outsider as the witcher does, while exploring and delving into a series of mystifying deaths.

Tom Senior claimed that the best tales of the expansion are about the theatrical character conflicts. A very local feel to the story, without the super epic drama of tall tales of chivalry, the expansion is equal to or more than 20 hours of uninterrupted game-gameplayoverzealous royal, chivalrous but incapable chevaliers and a mass of alluringly dark vampires to savor in the middle of an impressive storyline background of Toussaint. The details of the castle in Toussaint is viewable from any place in the land, but the game creators still made sure that there is place to put a couple of ghost stories. Fiends like the spotted wight gives encounters that are remarkable, while the continuing friendship with Regis brings an ire scene that makes the tale interesting.

As mentioned by Tim Clark, in talking about the value, there is no comparison to Blood and Wine for the year. As Clark says it can only be compared to a lot of full priced games. It was a unique slice of DLC rather than a farewell run for one of the famed personalities on PC. As it is, it is hard to play the expansion without feeling a bit emotional. But as goodbyes go, players could not get any better than the inspired stories of murder, love and conflict in a vivid location. The expansion made a perfect landing to its journey.

A lot of praises were made through reviews for The Witcher 3's final chapter. A game that will be surely missed.
