Fans of Yuri Katsuki will get to know the protagonist more in the new Sagaprise! project spearheaded by the Saga Prefecture. The region will be working together with "Yuri!!! on Ice" to promote the hometown of the series' main character.

Anime News Network reports that Saga Prefecture's Sagaprise! project is looking to promote Yuri Katsuki's hometown as a pilgrimage hotspot for anime enthusiasts. Aside from themed merchandise from the "Yuri!!! on Ice" franchise, there will also be products from the region for fans to check out.

Viewers who watched the first season of the hit Mitsuro Kubo creation have been introduced to Hasetsu. It is Yuri's hometown in the series and it happens to be a town based on Karatsu city, which is located in Saga Prefecture. Karatsu lies close to both China and Korea and it is known to be one of the ancient towns where trading took place.

The official website of Karatsu has put up images of Hasetsu and Karatsu in side-by-side display so fans can see how the real-life city and Yuri's hometown in the series are related. One particular photo shows the Karatsu Station and the Hasetsu Station as seen in "Yuri!!! on Ice."

Last week, the first season of the popular series wrapped up. However, the final episode left a cryptic message: "See You NEXT LEVEL." Mitsuro Kubo has not yet made official announcements about "Yuri!!! on Ice" season 2 or if there are plans for a new installment.

Episode 12 saw Yuri Katsuki taking home the silver medal during his second Grand Prix experience. Unfortunately, it wasn't the medal that Viktor vowed to kiss at the end of the competitions. According to Kotaku, "Yuri!!! on Ice" season 2 may come into fruition. This is because of the hints that were given in the final episode, including the gold medal that Yuri has yet to present to his mentor and love interest, Viktor.
