"Yuri on Ice" will have an all-night screening in Japan on February 11. Fans anticipate a "Yuri on Ice" Season 2 announcement to take place in the said screening.
All Night Screening
"Yuri on Ice" fans in Japan will have a chance relive the series one more time through an upcoming marathon event to be held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills. The all-night screening of the complete series will start at 10 pm. It will also include a talk show segment, featuring guest appearances of the people behind "Yuri on Ice."
This includes Mitsurou Kubo who made the storyboard as well as the original concept and character design for the series. Voice actors Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Yuri Katsuki), Junichi Suwabe (Victor), and Kouki Uchiyama (Yuri Plisetsky) will also be there, reported, Crunchyroll.
The "Yuri on Ice" talk show and the series marathon will be streamed live to 47 cinemas around the country. Anime Anime reported that selling of tickets is from January 22 to January 24. As of this writing, seats at the main theater are sold out, with pre-orders for tickets at the streaming cinemas already selling fast. Tickets to the event are 3,000 yen or approximately $26 each.
Season 2 Update
Speculations about the sequel of the anime hit-series "Yuri on Ice" revealed that the announcement might happen during the talk show part of the event. In addition, in a recent interview with Spoon 21, Toyonaga Toshiyuki, the famous Japanese voice actor, actor, singer and songwriter, who voices the lead protagonist of "Yuri On Ice," (Yuri Katsuki) revealed that the show's writer, Mitsurou Kubo, had said that she had some ideas for new content.
Moreover, Kubo in an interview indicated that there might be a "Yuri on Ice" sequel this year. He also said he has many plans in the works with the director for next year, including the wish to create a sequel and that he is doing my best and working hard.
