"World of Warcraft" commemorates the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj on January 21. In addition, "World of Warcraft" calls for players to participate in the Call of the Scarab event.

Gates of Ahn'Qiraj

"World of Warcraft" has had an array of expansions, events, patches, and updates that have featured many game-changing individuals. The game has been around for quite some time and as a way of remembering the milestones of the game, today, they remembered the events Gates of Ahn'Qiraj. This was a war that took place almost 11 years ago today, specifically, on January 23, 2006. The Gates of Ahn'Qiraj was war that persisted for 10-hours of single battle. This in a way changed the feat of "World of Warcraft."

The battle itself was not a surprise, as many claim. During that time, the menace of C'Thun turned into an urgent threat. As a result, leaders around the world laid over plans and forged dubious connections as the pressure increased. Both groups knew war was coming and personal glory was a hubris no one could ever risk. Any notion that one army could overpower General Rajaxx and his enormous battalion was just a fantasy in the early years of "World of Warcraft," according to MMOExaminer.

The team at Blizzard notes that the timing of this is very timely as the world of Azeroth is being shaken to its core by the threat of the Burning Legion. Additionally, "World of Warcraft" calls for players claiming that it is a time for unity across all races and factions. It further points out that no one warrior, or group, or guild, or faction, can stand up to the threat alone.

Call of the Scarab Event

Aside from remembering the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj, "World of Warcraft" is also asking players to participate in the Call of the Scarab event from today until the January 23. This according to the campaign is a way that players can pay respect to those that were lost in the epic battle of the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj.
