The majority of the information we know about the Nintendo Switch is from alleged insiders. Today, one of them has unveiled several exciting details about the console and Nintendo's upcoming games.

Insider Laura Kate Dale, who is a full-time video game critic and has been greatly involved in leaking so-far accurate information ahead of official reveals, disclosed an ample amount of remarkable details at Reddit AMA. With only speculations describing Nintendo Switch' GPU clock speeds and CPU, and while the console's specifications have yet to be confirmed, her revelations seem to be gold mines. Dale established that the dev kits that were sent back in October are more potent than the ones sent back last summer, upon which majority of specs rumors are based.

According to Dale, Nintendo Switch, like every game console, has gone through numerous dev kit iterations. She added that there was one floating around in July and that a lot of information on the specifications has been based upon it. She further added that there are other bigger dev kits in October. Several larger indies are still working from the July dev kits, she stated. She also confirmed that the October kit is overall more powerful than the sent-back July dev kit.

In terms of the hardware, the gaming insider revealed that while dev kits have an ethernet port, hands on demo units do not have it. This means that if players want to enjoy a wired connection, they may have to purchase a dongle. Nintendo Switch extra docks will also reportedly be made available after launch at a relatively cheaper price.

In addition, Dale notes that the Nintendo Switch editions for "Splatoon," "Smash Bros." and "Mario Kart 8" will have boosted ports. According to her brief description, "Mario Kart 8" will be a broad port, which may mean the Switch edition could introduce several new game modes or features. "Smash Bros.," however, will not be getting the same treatment, as Dale briefly noted the Switch port would have marginal additions, says Wccftech.
