Niantic has already released the "Pokemon GO" app for Apple Watch. While it is impossible to play the full game on the device due to the tiny screen and lack of power, it can be paired with the main app so that the iOS can execute some of the in-game actions without having the user use his phone. It will be interesting to see how the Apple Watch fares against the "Pokemon GO" Plus wearable.
The app for Apple Watch was released on Thursday, Dec. 22, almost three months after the Apple event in September. The app for the Apple device borrows certain things from the Plus wearable device. Both the devices aim to make gameplay easy for players. But packs a greater punch? "Pokemon GO" for Apple Watch has the ability to spin PokeStops, collect items and provide notifications when Pokemon are nearby.
Pokemon tracking and tracking distance traveled are easily carried out with the "Pokemon GO" for Apple Watch and these can then be incorporated into health and fitness apps. The Plus device has the ability to catch Pokemon. It can also spin PokeStops, collect items and notify users when Pokemon are nearby. However, due to lack of a screen, players cannot determine which Pokemon are present.
The "Pokemon GO" Plus does not allow to integrate steps traveled with health and fitness apps. When paired with the phone app, it allows Pokemon and distance tracking. Tracking is a bit tricky with the Plus wearable. As per Tech Times, various users have stated that the "Pokemon GO" Plus device notifies users faster than the app for Apple Watch.
Thus, due to the Plus wearable's "Pokemon catching" feature, it is probably a step ahead of the Apple Watch though users won't be able to see anything that's happening. Moreover, it costs only $35. It's okay to forego the Plus accessory if a user already has an Apple Watch. However, those who don't will be happy with the Plus device.
