God of War is one of the most anticipated games in 2017, more so after being officially announced that it will come to the PlayStation 4 soon. Moreover, the God of War's director just made another thrilling proclamation about the game's latest milestone.

During Sony's E3 2016 press conference, one of the most unexpected things to come out was the announcement of God of War for PlayStation 4, according to GameSpot. A Twitter post from the game's director however, completely surprised the fans once again as it was a new milestone for the series. While there is no information yet about the game's release date, it was promised by the game developers that updates about its progress will be announced.

Director Cory Barlog recently gave an update on the God of War's progress. He confirmed that their team has finalized the first playthrough of the game. This connotes that a rough draft version of the game is complete; understandably though, there is still a substantial amount of work to be done prior to its official release. Barlog also did not confirm when the game will be released, but it is safe to say that there will be more news about it next year.

Furthermore, the trailer for the God of War's PlayStation 4 version was very different from any other game in the series. It looked more like an adventure game than an action game. There are also many quieter moments, which gives more emphasis on the story and the characters' dialogue. The developers also previously remarked that the game would most likely not receive any demo before the launch. The main reason for this is that demos take additional time to develop. In that sense, it will rob the developers of the ability to release the game earlier than planned.
