The iPhone 8 rumor mill is going full force as multiple sources predict that the highly anticipated Apple flagship smartphone will break new ground in touch-sensitive technology.

The Cupertino-based tech giant is all set to debut the much-awaited iPhone 8 smartphone, which is expected to not only meet the expectations of loyal Apple fans, but also surpass them. The Apple iPhone 8 will oust the usual flat panel in favor of a curved OLED screen coupled with state-of-the-art touch-sensitive technology, according to The Korea Herald. Moreover, the iPhone 8 will boast a newfangled smart touchscreen that can recognize user touch on every side of the unit.

If recently surfaced reports are anything to go by, Apple has ordered about 100 million OLED display screens and Samsung Display has been roped in to supply curved plastic OLED, not glass, displays to the company, according to LearnBonds.

This report cements previous speculations hinting that the Apple iPhone 8 will sport a curved display, which is trotted out as the best display for mobile phones at the moment. The Samsung Galaxy S7 popularized the curved display, which leads to another rumor floating around on the internet --- Apple's next flagship smartphone will bear a striking resemblance to its competitor's top-selling handset.

Contrary to sticking to its conventional trend of selling over 200 million iPhones every year, Apple is expected to limit its curved OLED displays to their upcoming flagship smartphone, which is then expected to arrive in a 5.5-inch size. There's also hearsay that Apple plans to make the iPhone 8 touch-sensitive from each side and faces. In other words, an iPhone 8 user can tap the device's sides or back to complete any action. In addition, the Apple iPhone 8 is expected to feature a leading edge 3D dual-lens camera.

Although Apple has not spilled the beans about the iPhone 8's release date yet, rumors running rampant online suggest that the iPhone 8 units will hit the store shelves late next year.
