A lot of Android fans, particularly the ones who have been supporting Samsung's Galaxy line of flagship, are now probably excited to know more details about its next installment, the Samsung Galaxy S8. However, it seems like those who have updated their phones annually might have second thoughts with the next one.
According to financial institution Goldman Sachs, the Samsung Galaxy S8 might have a 20 percent price increase compared to the current-generation Galaxy S7, Phone Arena reported.
This could mean that tech enthusiasts who'd like to buy the Galaxy S8 might have to settle with the approximately $950 market price for its base, considering that the Galaxy S7 Edge is currently available for $799.
The reason behind the increase in pricing is all probably due to the raw materials that Samsung may need to produce the handset. Sam Mobile reported that the price for the needed materials is being expected to rise by around 15-20 percent.
Samsung Galaxy S8 specifications rumor
No concrete rumors yet regarding the potential specs of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8. There are, however, some claims stating that it might come with 4K display (3,840x2,160) resolution rather than the 2K (2,560x1,440) found on the Galaxy S7, CNET reports.
Furthermore, some claims that the Samsung Galaxy S8 might introduce an A.I. (Artificial Intelligent) digital assistant into the mix, currently rumored as Bixby. By the sound of it, seems like it is going to be somehow similar to how Siri works in Apple's product like in the iPhone flagship.
Samsung Galaxy S8 potential release date pushed back?
Many Samsung enthusiasts believed that the next-generation handset might see the light of day at the upcoming annual event Mobile World Congress 2017 in February. However, new reports have emerged coming from South Korea claiming that the tech giant has pushed back its launch event to sometime April 2017.
It should be noted that this is still subject for confirmation, and Samsung has yet to release any kind of statement regarding the claim. With that in mind, it's best to take this one with a tiny pinch of salt for the time being.
