The Samsung Galaxy S8 has been subjected to countless rumors and leaks, with some speculations even hinting that it will be the first smartphone to come with optical fingerprint recognition.

If rumors doing rounds online are anything to go by, the display of Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphone will embed a fingerprint scanning technology. Adding fuel to the fire, one of Samsung's suppliers, Synaptics, recently unveiled a component that seems to grease the wheels for the said technology and there's hearsay that the South Korean handset maker might source it for their highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone.

In line with this, a recently surfaced report suggests that a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor is more likely to come with the upcoming device. Apparently, the first testing on the fingerprint sensor embedded in the smartphone's display has turned out to be flawed and a dedicated sensor will still be required, GSM Arena reported.

It's worth noting that multiple sources have already confirmed that Samsung will oust the physical home button for its next-gen flagship smartphone and the entire front of the device will be mostly display. Aside from that, the Galaxy S8 will feature an iris recognition sensor, which Samsung debuted earlier this year with the now-defunct Galaxy Note 7. There's word that the S8's iris recognition sensor will also be comparatively faster than the one used for the fire-catching Note 7.

After launching the Galaxy S8 equipped with iris recognition technology, some reports suggest that Samsung will look to re-engage financial institutions and banks in order to launch the Samsung Pass service again, according to SamMobile. Meanwhile, Samsung is asking its employees to avoid spilling the beans about the Galaxy S8's release date, specs, and other details.

Samsung Mobile head DJ Koh has urged those working closely on the company's upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8, to keep related details strictly classified. Koh also sent out an e-mail for Samsung's employees, expressing his concern and chagrin over some alleged attempts on data breaching, which is most likely related to the S8.
