Game developer, Platinum games, and publisher, Square Enix, has recently announced that the long anticipated PS4 game Nier: Automata will also have a PS4 Pro version. They further stated that the PS4 Pro version of the game will have better graphics than the initial PS4 release.

A new 21 minute footage of the action role-playing game was streamed in the December 15 Nier: Automata livestream event hosted by Dengeki and Square Enix. The new footage added to the growing excitement of gamers who are already itching to play the game.

In the livestream event, Square Enix and Dengeki also announced exciting collaborations with other games. Nier: Automata equipment is slated to be seen on the Phantasy Star Online 2 game. Another thrilling collaboration in the works is with Monster Hunter Frontier Z where Nier: Automata weapons and armor is said to make a cameo.

PS4 vs PS4 Pro Nier: Automata

The Nier: Automata PS4 Pro version will have crisper images compared to its PS4 version. The graphics of the Nier: Automata for PS4 Pro will further be improved by the additional motion blur and the increased smoothness in the movements of the characters.

In its initial PS4 offering, Nier: Automata will run at a resolution of 1600x900 while the PlayStation 4 Pro version is said to run at the higher 1290x1080 resolution. Additional improvements in the game's graphics include sharper line of light, richer expression of atmosphere and finer detailed shadows.

Square Enix also announced the availability of a visual guide for Nier: Automata which will be released in Japan on February 23.

Nier: Automata Release Dates

Set to be released in the first quarter of 2017, Nier: Automata is poised to take the early lead in the race of the top 2017 games for PS4 and PC.

The earliest Nier: Automata release date is February 23 in Japan. The game will be available in NA on March 7 and on March 10 for AUS and EU.
