Earlier this month, Capcom released a new trailer for the upcoming game "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard." The trailer teased the horrors and secrets that players can uncover in an allegedly abandoned farmhouse.
Released on Saturday, Dec. 3, the trailer teased fans with messages from Ethan Winters' wife, who has gone missing. Ethan decides to follow her clues and solve her mysterious disappearance.
On the same day, Capcom's Social Media Specialist Kellen Haney also announced the release of "Midnight," the final "Beginning Hour" demo update for "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" on the official PlayStation Blog. Eager gamers have previously unlocked several endings for the demo, and now the final update will help players put all the pieces of this horrific puzzle together.
The "Midnight" update will enhance the demo for fans of the "Resident Evil" franchise. After downloading it, gamers can now go beyond the "eerie, molded door" that showed up in the previous "Twilight" update.
The final update for the "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" demo also has an optional PS VR mode that will make the gameplay experience twice as terrifying. Gamers who own both a PS4 Pro and a compatible TV set can also try the "Midnight" demo update in 4K resolution.
Geek.com has pointed out that Capcom seems to be trying to take the "Resident Evil" franchise into a new direction as the seventh game in the series will be the first title to be played in a first-person perspective. The online publication also brought into attention the similarities "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard's" plot and gameplay had with Konami's "Silent Hill 2" and "P.T." the demo for the canceled "Silent Hills" game.
"Silent Hill 2" features James Sunderland, who goes to the town of Silent Hill when his deceased wife asks him to meet her there. He battles monsters in Silent Hill in the hopes of finding out who sent the mysterious letter to him. Meanwhile, the "P.T." demo for the canceled "Silent Hills" game also featured a first-person perspective.
Gamers can get their hands on "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" when it is released on Jan. 24, 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
