"Bleach" has finished its incredible 15-year run with its final chapter was released on August and its last volume released in Japan a few weeks ago. Series author Tite Kubo has some stories to tell everyone as the main story ends.
According to Kubo, he reactivated his Twitter to say thank you to all of his readers throughout the years. He says he managed to write the final chapter the way he thought of it back when he was still writing the first chapter, 15 years ago.
He also revealed that his health started to get worse on his 10th year, making him bedridden at certain points of his career. At other times, he thought that he is starting to feel better until one day his cold goes back again - thus an endless cycle persisting.
At one point, he's starting to feel pathetic about his failing health, until he got a letter from an unidentified sick boy, who became very big fan of "Bleach." The boy has a terminal illness; at the time the letter was written, he only had 18 months to live.
The boy refused to play video games and watch TV, and turned to reading manga after being bedridden. It was then when he discovered the manga series, and he became instantly hooked.
The letter ended with the boy's final request: he wants Kubo to draw the manga the way he wants, until it ends. He also requested to send his letter after his death - it means Kubo had read the letter when the child had already passed away.
Kubo, in a series of tweets, illustrates himself crying while drawing "Bleach's" final chapter. He ended his posts by requesting fans to locate the boy's family.
The author has deactivated his Twitter account once due to certain circumstances, but reactivated to post his story.
With the manga series ending, "Bleach's" main storyline comes to a conclusion. However, the franchise will still receive two more novels from various storytellers and a live-action film adaptation slated for a 2018 release.
