The final volume of "Bleach" manga was released in Japan on November 4, along with a few extra content for avid fans to enjoy.
"Bleach" is finally over, after 15 years. The last volume of the series, entitled "Death & Strawberry", covers chapters 675 to 686, and has been an incredible feat for series creator Tite Kubo since its debut in 2001.
In a report by Crunchyroll, the extra material from the volume consists of a few pages of sketches, the main cast lineup, plot summary, support staff credits, and special messages from the author about the series' successful decade-and-a-half run.
The North American release of the manga is a bit delayed, however, as Volume 68 has been made available on November 1, and Volume 69 is scheduled to be released on March 7, 2017.
The final chapter of the series, which was released on August 22, is a hugely predictable epilogue chapter, in a review by The Fandom Post. Fans were disappointed with the series' abrupt cut of the ending arc, and while they have not experienced a satisfying closure to the story, they all agree that the ending chapter felt cute and graciously presented.
Meanwhile, the franchise will continue as two novels based on the story will be released in the near future, according to Anime News Network.
The first novel written by Makoto Matsubara, who has already written previous novelizations of the story, will write the first novel which will be released on December. Its story will focus on Renji and Rukia.
Ryohgo Narita, creator of "Baccano!" and "Durarara!!," will write the second novel and is scheduled for release sometime 2017. The second novel will feature Shuuhei Hisagi and his secret battle.
The "Bleach" franchise will continue to entertain avid followers as a film adaptation is slated for a 2018 release. Souta Fukushi will star as Ichigo Kurosaki, and Shinsuke Sato will be directing the upcoming film.
